to dream as I do
sleepless nights
bring dreaming days
this insomnia
lack of reality
hoping its a phase
I sleep alone
but not in my head
worlds fill in the darkness
hiding behind my eyelids
the view is beautiful
oceans of silver
the ships have all sank
the officers are home
relieved of their rank
over and under
the skies so vast
flight takes place
aboard this floating mast
the stars sparkle
yet the daylight reigns
kindling the fires
hovering above
leaving smudge stains
incognito
we go
to wonders
we could not have know
when I wake
when reality
breaks this spell
I shall find refuge
a safety net
of no one I will tell
