learning to fly

I close my eyes
thoughts with you
I fall asleep
remembering your touch
being apart
is beginning to be too much

darkness comes
it takes me in
on a journey
I begin

green meadows
eternal spring season
weeping willows
crying for no reason

clouds go by
some fast some slow
floating carelessly
through the wind
somehow they float
somehow they go

down the hill
a cottage sits
temptation to go
isn't easy to resist

I run
fast as I can
wind catches my sleeves
it chills my hands

my legs feel weightless
my head is a cloud
my body a feather
a sensation begins
my heart glows strong
I lift off the ground

the view is majestic
the earth so far below
the most beautiful place
I will ever know

  1. I've seen that beautiful view from an airplane window. Where are you going?
